Lots More Developments

CMP strung the lines last week - let there be light!

The basement is bright today with sunshine, even with no lights yet.

The stairs from the second floor down to the first.

One of the master bedroom closets. Looking through it is the back bedroom, probably Noah's. The chimney will go in to the left of the closet, hopefully this week.

The master bathroom - we got a tub with little jets!

The other bathroom upstairs.

The propane was delivered on Thursday. The furnace will be installed this week.

The garage door is on.

It just gets better and better...

Framing the Interior Walls

This week the walls will all be framed up, and the plumbing and electric is going in. CMP strung the line yesterday and we have power!

Some of the plumbing.

The kitchen, and the doorway straight ahead goes into a walk-in pantry.

The stairs are in, both up to the second floor and down to the basement. This is the upstairs hallway, looking ahead to the garage end of the house, with a bedroom to be on the right and left. Straight ahead will be closets for both bedrooms.

This side of the stairs on the first floor will be our office, with a large built-in bookcase on the wall straight ahead.

The front door is in. Welcome home!

Big Progress In A Short Week

This past week Eric and his crew built the garage...

...and started the roof for the front porch...

...and worked more on the rooftops (and finished them, shingles and all, see below)...

...and began the little staircase up into the house from the garage...

...and on Thursday, Fairpoint planted the utility poles - soon there will be heat inside...

...and Eric began to frame the walls upstairs.

The roof trusses in the garage.

Earlier this afternoon, we drove up again, and Colby and Matthew show how tall the house is.

Noah: "I want to stay toasty in the car, Mama!"

We marvel at the scene (especially the finished rooftops on the garage and front porch).

And then turn around to see another amazing view - from the front porch.

Heading out.
Kate: "Noah, look at the moon!"
Noah: "Tractor, Mama!"
Kate: "Noah, look at the moon!"
Noah: "Plow tractor, Mama!"
Kate: "What do you see in the sky, Noah?"
Colby: "He likes the tractor better."
Me: [Laughing, then quiet, finally.]

Window Pictures

The windows are in...we haven't picked out our front and side doors yet.

Love the slider in the dining room...
